When it comes to sports, especially boxing, there are two kinds of punters. The first type wants to keep it simple and just needs a clean call, who wins or loses. The other type are usually the ones who want to be right about one very specific detail of a match like which round it will end in. YesPlay is great for both of these types of people. However, there is one simple rule you should keep in mind to avoid unnecessary headaches.
Pick a market
When you land on YesPlay boxing section, you’ll first be shown two most basic betting markets: Winner and Total Rounds, along with “More markets” button for other extras. Winner is simple enough. If you think boxer A is going to win, you select him and that’s it. Total Rounds is a bet on whether the fight is going to go Over or Under a specific number of rounds. If you know anything about boxing, you might enjoy trying this.
If you want even bigger odds, markets like method of victory and round betting are always available. A draw bet is offered for most fights, so keep in mind that when you bet on one of the boxers, you’re not covered for every result. During live events, YesPlay may offer in-play boxing bets.
The 24-hour trap
YesPlay’s boxing rules state that if a fight doesn’t happen within 24 hours of when it was supposed to, or if one of the fighters gets swapped out, then all bets are off. While this is fair enough, it can still be a bit of a pain for punters, especially since fight cards often change at the last minute.
Timing is really important when it comes to betting. If you think a boxer is going to win early, don’t put too much money into it at first. Add more just before the fight when it seems like it’s definitely going to happen. If you’re betting on something exact, like which round a fighter will win in, wait a bit. It won’t cost you anything to wait, and it could save you from losing your bet.
